life-drawing plant

Drawing from life (looking at the real object, not a photo or out of your imagination), your objective is to draw the object as realistically as possible. Try to draw all that you see, as accurately as possible. Include as much as you can- details, light/dark, texture, etc. Allow yourself at least an hour for each drawing. Consider the whole picture plane and utilize the whole piece of paper (not necessarily filling every corner of the paper, but no small objects floating in the middle of the page). Time yourself and write your name and the time spent on the back of your drawing.

This was hard to do because I haven't draw a plant before. However I really like the end product.

contour plant

Contour drawing; learn ways to develop a focal point in a drawing, gain greater understanding of composition, increase knowledge of proportion and scale, access the abstract/right side of the brain, and create a dynamic design and satisfying drawing.

I loved this project because I added texture in only one part of the plant to put focus on that part because when I was chasing the plant I saw this one and I thought as if the plant was dancing.

bag hatching

Hatching; develop the practice of doing compositional studies, learn to see the angles of lines in perspective, gain an experiential understanding of linear perspective, experiment with different ways to develop value. Apply what the course has covered to this point, further skills for the development of value.

This was fun because I experimented with control light and I love the outcome

life-drawing chair

Drawing from life (looking at the real object, not a photo or out of your imagination), your objective is to draw the object as realistically as possible. Try to draw all that you see, as accurately as possible. Include as much as you can- details, light/dark, texture, etc. Allow yourself at least an hour for each drawing. Consider the whole picture plane and utilize the whole piece of paper (not necessarily filling every corner of the paper, but no small objects floating in the middle of the page). Time yourself and write your name and the time spent on the back of your drawing.

The perspective of the chair made hard to draw it. Also the size of the paper made hard to fit the chair. However like the drawing.

egg

Value; see more of the world around you and how light falls on form and how shadows are cast, gain understanding about how light and shadow reveal three dimensional organic forms, experience greater command of drawing materials, and learn how to manipulate pressure, pencil grip and rhythm of application to achieve gradients of tone

It was difficult getting the shape of the egg as well as shading the egg without smoothing everything. I really liked the end product.

Aluminum House

Two point perspective; drawing such that it describes the forms and space in a convincing way and in a way that is pleasing to you. You can put as much (or as little) detail as you like, but be sure to include a full range of value to "anchor" or solidify the building and its parts.

This project was tedious getting all the angles and have the lines straight as well get a lot of range value. However I am proud and I like the end product.
